How Does Hair Loss Happen?

Hair loss can occur for various reasons, from genetic predisposition to medical conditions, hormonal imbalances, stress, and poor nutrition. These factors can disrupt the hair growth cycle itself, leading to thinning hair, receding hairlines, or bald patches.

How is Hair Loss Treated?

Our primary treatment for hair loss is Nanopore Micro-Needling, a state-of-the-art technique that leverages your body’s natural healing processes to promote hair regrowth. Nanopore Micro-Needling is a minimally invasive treatment that involves creating tiny microchannels in the scalp using a specialized device. These micro-injuries trigger the body’s wound-healing response, stimulating collagen production and encouraging hair follicles to enter the active growth phase.

Understanding Hair Growth Phases

Hair growth occurs in a continuous cycle consisting of three primary phases. Each hair follicle operates independently, meaning that different hairs can be in different phases at any given time:

Anagen Phase (Growth Phase)

This is the active growth phase of the hair cycle, lasting anywhere from 2 to 7 years. Typically, about 85-90% of the hair on your scalp is in the Anagen phase at any time.

Catagen Phase (Transition Phase)

The Catagen phase lasts about 2 to 3 weeks. During this phase, hair growth stops, and the hair follicle begins to shrink and detach from the dermal papilla.

Telogen Phase (Resting Phase)

The Telogen phase is a 3-4 month resting stage of the hair cycle. During this phase, the hair does not grow but remains attached to the follicle. Eventually, the hair is shed naturally as new hair grows in the follicle.

What to expect

  • Does Hair Loss Treatment Work on Any Level of Hair Loss?

Nanopore Micro-Needling and similar treatments are most effective in the early to moderate stages of hair loss but can be used to treat:

    • Early stages of hair thinning
    • Moderate hair loss
    • Partial or acute hair loss
  • Is Hair Loss Treatment Permanent? How Long Does It Take To See Improvement?

While hair loss treatments can produce long-lasting results, they are not typically permanent. Maintenance treatments may be required to sustain the results, especially if the underlying cause of hair loss persists. Regular follow-up sessions can help maintain hair density and prevent further hair loss.

Typically, noticeable results can be expected after a few months of consistent treatment. Most patients require multiple sessions—usually spaced a few weeks apart—to achieve optimal results.

  • How Do I Prepare for My Hair Loss Treatment?

Preparing for hair loss treatment is straightforward. On the day of the procedure, ensure your scalp is clean and free of styling products:

    • Avoid harsh hair products
    • Do not undergo other scalp treatments
    • Ensure the scalp is clean and free of styling products
