IPL PHOTOREJUVENATION

TRUST YOUR SKIN TO THE EXPERTS…

Syneron elōs™ e-light photo-rejuvenation is a new type of photo-rejuvenation treatment offered by Travis Keller which takes non-surgical skin resurfacing to the next level by combining the traditional Intense Pulsed Light -IPL photorejuvenation technology with radiofrequency skin tightening technology.

What is IPL Photo-Rejuvination?

Like the traditional photo-rejuvenation, the elōs™ eLight™ photofacial is a non-invasive treatment which means the IPL and RF energies are applied to the skin for maximum effect on pigmentation, redness, facial veins, fine lines, and pore size.

A number of different skin imperfections are caused by sun damage (from the UVB and UVA aspects of sunlight), the aging process, and various environmental factors. Additionally, the skin’s collagen and elastin levels decline over time. With the help of the elōs™ eLight™ photofacial, collagen and elastin can be restored to bring back a healthy and youthful appearance for the skin.

FAQ

Q. How does elōs™ e-light PhotoFacial work on the skin?

A. The elōs™ e-light device delivers two types of energy to your skin, Intense Pulsed Light and RadioFrequency energy that act synergistically to enhance the skin. Energy is absorbed in pigmentation, blood vessels, and redness to gradually and gently reduce or eliminate these blemishes. The RadioFrequency energy also produces collagen and elastin in the dermis, resulting in a noticeable smoothing of fine to moderate wrinkles and textural irregularities.

Q. Am I a good candidate for elōs™ e-light PhotoFacial?

A. Individuals who have sun damaged skin or rosacea, irregularly pigmented skin, enlarged pores, veins or other skin conditions that could be expected to be improved with this treatment. Patients with lighter, untanned skin are the best candidates for elōs™ e-light IPL. Patients with tanned or naturally dark skin can experience changes in skin pigmentation so are not typically recommended. Additionally, patients who are pregnant or taking the medication Accutane® should not have elōs™ e-light IPL until at least six months after they stop using the drug or after pregnancy. People with active cold sores should also delay treatment. If you are taking aspirin or blood thinners, you may experience some bruising.

Q. What is the initial elōs™ e-light PhotoFacial consultation like?

A. Before your treatment session, you will need to have a consultation with Travis Keller. During this consultation, Travis Keller will ask you about your aesthetic goals for this skin procedure. This will help to ensure that the equipment is specifically calibrated to treat these goals effectively. It will also allow Travis Keller to recommend the optimal number of treatments required to achieve your goals. He will perform an examination of your skin to determine the type of issues it is experiencing and what your overall skin type is. The two of you will also go over your medical history, including any medications you are currently taking. Travis Keller will go into detail regarding the specifics of the elōs™ eLight™ photofacial treatment process, including preparation steps and the recovery process.

Q. How is the elōs™ e-light PhotoFacial performed?

A. The area is covered with a thin layer of cooling gel, the area is treated with a gentle pulse of elos™ Laser light and Radio Frequency combined energy. When the pulse of elos™ light and low energy radio frequency is administered there is a momentary warm sensation that is easily tolerated. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.

Q. Is there any down-time with the elōs™ e-light PhotoFacial?

A. Immediately following the e-light treatment, your face will appear slightly red or flushed, pigmented lesions may appear darker and your skin may feel as though it has a sun burn. These are normal symptoms and will improve over the next 24 hours. Peeling may occur especially if there are a lot of brown spots or sun freckles on your face. Typically, these spots become darker within the first 24 hours following treatment and look almost like “pepper flakes” on your skin, these lesions will flake off over the next two weeks. Using an ice pack on the treated area can help to lessen discomfort after treatment.

Q. How many e-light PhotoFacial treatments must I have?

A. Most patients require 3 – 6 elos™ PhotoFacial treatments depending on desired results. Treatments are performed every two to four weeks. Some patients may benefit from additional treatments. Once completed, patients are advised to refrain from sun/UV exposure and wear a SPF 30+ sunscreen daily to prevent further skin damage. The results of the treatment appear gradually over time as new collagen and elastin protein form in the skin tissue. Full results can last up to a year and can last even longer in some cases.

Q. How much does an IPL PhotoFacial cost?

A. The cost of an IPL photofacial is impacted by several factors. Among these is the patient’s choice of medical practice, along with the types of issues they are undergoing treatment to correct.
